Piano Teaching Diplomas

Preparing for a teaching diploma is an opportunity to develop not only your qualifications, but also your confidence, knowledge and professional identity as a music teacher.

I hold a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy and an ANZCA Fellowship Diploma in Music Education (F.T.Dip.A) and have many years of experience in tertiary music education, studio teaching and the professional development of teachers.

​

I am the Specialist Consultant to the ANZCA Board and an ANZCA Examiner, and I am the author of ANZCA's newly released suite of Teaching Qualifications, providing a progressive pathway through Certificate, Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship levels.

​

I can provide individual preparation and mentoring for candidates undertaking piano teaching qualifications with any recognised examining board. This may include guidance with written submissions, lesson planning and observation, repertoire and pedagogy, reflective practice, practical teaching, viva voce preparation and the development of the broader professional knowledge expected at diploma levels.

ANZCA Teaching Qualifications

In my role with ANZCA, I particularly endorse its new suite of Teaching Qualifications. I designed these qualifications to reflect the realities of contemporary studio teaching, with an emphasis on the practical application of pedagogy, thoughtful reflection on teaching practice and the development of confident, knowledgeable and adaptable music educators.

​

The pathway provides opportunities for teachers at different stages of their professional development, from those beginning to formalise their teaching knowledge through to experienced educators working at advanced diploma level.
