Piano Studio
About Me
I am Paula Melville-Clark, a passionate music educator and pianist with a deep commitment to advancing music education. My journey in music began with a Licentiate Diploma from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music in London followed by a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma in Music, and a Master's degree in Piano Pedagogy. I also hold accreditation as a Dalcroze teacher, and my research on Music & the Body has garnered recognition from the Musicological Society of Australia.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and performing across the globe, from England and France to Hong Kong and Australia. Between 1996 and 2008, I served as Lecturer in Music at the University of Southern Queensland, where I also founded the USQ Junior Academy of Music, a program dedicated to nurturing young talent.

I am grateful for the opportunities to share my expertise as a guest teacher and presenter at workshops and conferences both in Australia and internationally. Some of my most rewarding engagements include the Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conferences, the national AUSTA string conference, and the Dalcroze International Summer Schools. I also enjoy working as an adjudicator for competitions and Eisteddfodau and have had the honour of collaborating with talented artists, such as accompanying UK soprano Helen Winter on her album Footsteps in the Sand in 2019.

Based in Toowoomba, I operate a thriving piano studio, where I teach students of all ages, from early learners to Diploma-level musicians in both face to face lessons and online. I served as President of the Music Teacher’s Association Toowoomba branch from 2018 to 2020 and chaired the Toowoomba Eisteddfod between 2008 and 2010. I am proud to be an Ambassador for Samick Australia, continuing my dedication to fostering musical excellence and supporting the next generation of musicians.
