About Me

I'm Paula Melville-Clark, a passionate music educator, pianist, and specialist in studio teaching and piano pedagogy. With a career spanning several decades and continents, I’ve dedicated my life to helping students and teachers thrive through meaningful, creative, and well-informed music education.

I hold a Licentiate Diploma from the Guildhall School of Music in London, as well as a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma in Music, and a Master’s Degree in Piano Pedagogy. I am also an accredited Dalcroze teacher, and my research on Music and the Body has been recognised by the Musicological Society of Australia.

I currently serve as an examiner and Specialist Consultant to the ANZCA Board, and am the author of ANZCA’s new Teaching Qualification syllabus, which introduces a structured, practical pathway for teachers at Certificate, Associate, and Licentiate levels. In recognition of my contribution to music education, I was recently awarded an ANZCA Fellowship.

As the founder of The Music Diploma Hub, I created a comprehensive online learning platform that guides candidates through their ANZCA Teaching Diplomas with step-by-step lessons, practical resources, and optional mentoring.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and performing in England, France, Hong Kong, and across Australia. From 1996 to 2008, I lectured in Music at the University of Southern Queensland, where I also founded the USQ Junior Academy of Music to nurture talented young musicians.

I continue to enjoy presenting at conferences and workshops across Australia and internationally including the Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference, AUSTA, and Dalcroze International Summer Schools. I’m also an experienced adjudicator and have enjoyed artistic collaborations such as accompanying UK soprano Helen Winter on her 2019 album Footsteps in the Sand.

Now based in Toowoomba, I run a busy piano studio teaching students from early childhood to Diploma level, both in person and online. I am a former President of the QMTA Toowoomba Branch, a past Chair of the Toowoomba Eisteddfod, and proud to serve as an Ambassador for Samick Australia.
